9 day solo (27M) Tokyo travel itinerary check. Any advice?

Hello! I’m travelling from London to Tokyo on Sunday for the first time and I’d like some advice on my 9 day itinerary. I’ve watched countless vlogs, read lots of articles and even used Chat GPT for help (😂), but I’d like to know if I’m missing anything crucial. My interests include skincare, music, anime/manga, film photography, fashion, nature, technology. My hotel is in Shimbashi. Since I’m solo travelling, I’m keen to make new friends and socialise. Should I join meet-up groups/go to hostel bars? Thanks! ☺️

  1. Cherry blossoms are long gone, unfortunately! Ueno park is still beautiful though. You definitely do not have time for Osaka on this trip.

  2. you forgot akihabara, truly heaven for someone who likes games and anime. definitely recommend spending some time there, maybe on the same day as you’re going to Shibuya 😉

  3. While you’re in Shibuya you might want to check out shopping, maybe around the Parco mall. Lot of high end fashion shops. The Nintendo store is also there. Harajuku is also good for fashion and is close by.

I was in Japan last week and I saw a few cherry blossoms but most were on their way out. It’s a lovely time of year though and the gardens all look amazing.

After Ueno you could also visit Akihabara which is one stop south of Ueno. It’s like the center of gaming/anime in Tokyo.

Could also do an onsen while in Hakone.
