If I wanted to specify a princess from ancient Japan and not one from a Middle Eastern, European, or any other country, would there be a specific term I would use to refer to that princess or would it be okay to use “日本王女” or “日本の王女”? Is there a correct term to use to refer to princesses from Japan?

I’m not referring to modern princesses but those that would have lived in the past like the Heian period. Is there a specific term you would use to refer to them?

**Update:** I found the answer on my own. If you want to refer to a princess either in historical Japan or in historical fiction in Japan then you would use the word “お姫様”. If you want to specify it’s a Japanese princess then you would use “和風お姫様”.
