So I’ve been here 9 months in a row now, and today I went to Lawson and saw a ton of Kirby merch. I noticed there were no prices on anything, but one spot mentioned 700 yen, so I’m assuming it’s some sort of lottery system.
Previously they had a NieR: Automata tie in event, but me being slow and in Okinawa, none of the Lawson’s nearby had anything to do with it anymore.
So this time I’m trying to be quick, but I don’t really know how it works. Plus I don’t have a Japanese person with me this time.
Do I just pay the 700 yen and they randomly select a prize for me? Or do I have to fill something out? How does it work?
Also, am I guaranteed to at least win something, like a small or lame product? Or can I win literally nothing?

At the register you tell them you want to do that lottery, you pay the money (you can try more than once) and they usually have you pick something out of a box and you can get the prize for that tier. I don’t know of any where you get nothing. I’ve always gotten something.
I never play those, the first time I did I won an R2D2 nabe pot. It was the only thing worth playing for.
Check stores like Hard Off or Book Off for the prizes that people won and sold.
