What does 障害者採用枠 next to a Job Position means?

I just moved to Japan but I don’t read Kanji, I was looking for jobs and I noticed this “障害者採用枠” next to the job title. Does it mean that is a job exclusively for disabled people? Or just refers that people with disabilities can apply for this job?

  1. Exclusively for people with disabilities. The alternative is 一般採用枠, which anyone (disabled or not) can apply for.

  2. Just as a bonus: Japanese enterprises are mandated to hire a certain number of disabled people once their employees reaches a certain number. I believe it’s 1 disabled person per 43 employees at the moment.

For those companies who cannot find candidates or do not want to go through the hassle, some other companies “outsource” these employees. My first company (IT) had people grow veggies and fruits in the inaka and we would get some in the office from time to time.
