1. This one match alone made me fall in love with wrestling again. It was a masterpiece with a perfect story which could only have been topped by Okada and Omega again. Both of them were widely considered the two best wrestlers at the time. I do hope that they can have one more singles match together.

2. One of the most overrated matches of all time. Great match altough it’s endless move after move after move, but considering what happened after this match it was all downhill for NJPW. Meltzer being relevant because of star ratings, gaijins part-timers very high on the card in important PPVs and winning belts, the Elite story laid all over our throats. Dark times to me, for sure.

3. This was the first NJPW show I ever watched back at the start of 2017, became a fan overnight with it and also made me an Omega fan from the first night I saw him. That Terminator-rendition of “Devil’s Sky” is still probably my favorite theme he ever had.

   Wonderful match and a wonderful show that I’m glad I got to witness live.

5. Is this the best “first Japan match” you could show to a non-NJPW fan? To me it’s either this, Okada – Shibata or AJ – Nakamura

6. Rewatched it recently. That match was absolutely legendary. Kenny kicking out of the first rainmaker(iirc) is one of the greatest wrestling moments of all time. Lots of other memorable moments. Another one is the ‘rana off the ropes where Okada lands on his head.

8. Was it this match or their other one where Okada was about to give Kenny the Rainmaker but Kenny just falls to his knees in exhaustion and Okada misses. Always loved that spot.

11. I was their live for this show. We were in a “foreigner “ section so it seemed. (Likely a section for those who bought tickets online). We were all rooting for Kenny so hard. Incredible memory

16. I was there. Had never seen a new japan show before but a friend said I should attend. Grew up on wwe. This changed everything.
