As the title says – is the 5th station parking open off season? Thinking it would be nice to have a hike on Hoeizan. Won’t be doing any serious climbing.
Until the trails to the summit open, you should be okay to drive and park.
Since you’ll probably be going through the town anyway, stop at the visitor center and double check. Once it gets busy, you need to park much further away and take a bus.

Which 5th station? There are 3 I’m aware of and a 4th trail but no station IIRC…
