Air circulators

Has anyone tried or used these? Cheaper method to feeling better during hot months I guess?

Looks like a smaller fan that just rotates in a wider range of directions. Does anyone have experience with these that they could share?

  1. I have one in my bedroom. It doesn’t keep the room cool at all, it just circulates the air, so you’ll still need a fan or an AC unit.

  2. Circulating hot humid air feels better than still hot humid air, but it is still hot humid air.

  3. The ones I use at work just seem like weak fans to me. I honestly don’t know the difference. We even use them like fans. Maybe because the shape of the cage is rounder, it moves more air perhaps?

  4. I used to have a Vornado and it was nice for kids room at night. It made the room feel better. It has very fine grill, and I could put it high enough, out of reach. It’s also great with A/C, it will redistribute the cool air – but any fan can do that.

But for myself I got a big ass fan until it was too hot and then A/C.

  5. Maybe those air circulators are just weak fans that hopefully consume less energy, with the purpose to prevent mold

  6. I use one to distribute the air conditioned air across the house but not as a sole means to keep cool
