Sounds like closing the barn doors after the horse has bolted.
People have warned about this for years, yet it was ignored up until ChatGPT was released and blew people’s minds. What is “scary” is that what they released to the public is a fraction of the power of what is already possible.
Unpopular opinion maybe? But I think OpenAI has a bit of it self to blame. As do AI proponents. There is some extreme clickbait going on right now about how powerful the current iteration of LLMS are. I my self fall into believing it, going through spirals of anxiety as a programmer. Then going back to realizing what chatgpt really is, which is still amazingly impressive. Then you have Sam Altman and other C-Level people at OpenAI or other places go on interviews and talk about how we are closer to artificial sentience.
With all of this, of course you are going to freak a few people out. My self included…
All AI should be stopped immediately.
The potential for abuse by individuals with money and power is just way, WAY greater than any benefits it could have.
And we have no regulations.
No, the gennie is already out of the bottle. Even if you regulate your own country regarding usage of AIs, your neighbors will not have the same regulation as yours; you’ll just lose the battle. You can play the moral high ground, but sadly sword IS mightier than the pen.
Yes, there is a need for regulation at the minimum level, but the most important task next is to teach the public on what is AI and how to utilize AIs ethically and efficiently.
Lol F em. It’s been basically reverse engineered with many repos offering online access already. Regulate it as much as you want haha
