I am a novice hiker climbing Mount Yakedake this Friday. I have booked a nearby Ryokan and wasn’t planning on buying too much gear as it seems like a relatively easy summit, but does anyone know if I need specific gear?
It is still a lot of snow in the Northern Alps so you definitely need gears if you want to climb there (recently it was in the news that three people died during climbing in the Northern Alps). Also Mount Yakedake (焼岳) is level 1 alert now so the summit is off limit, showing activity since last year.
