Multiple visits from South Korea?

Hi all, I am going to be in South Korea for the next year. Once Japan reopens their borders (if it happens within the next year, of course), I plan to visit Japan multiple times for short trips (3 to 10 days). I am wondering if this will present any problems. Are there any issues with the frequency of visiting? Would it be acceptable to go once a month, or once every other month?

Thank you for any advice you can provide.

  1. If it’s for a short duration, it should pose no problems. Business travelers do that all the time. The problem is when the duration is super long. Some people will try to come in and leave every 3 months to avoid getting a proper visa. But a week? No problem (I think).

  2. I’m curious under what capacity you will be in Korea for the year.

It’s not really a problem to stay for short trips. They won’t care. Likely wouldn’t care if you were there every other week so long as you aren’t working in Japan. They want their taxes if their due.

Korea doesn’t really seem to care either. When my visa was expiring I asked about extending it they literally told me to do a visa run, and even said same day would be acceptable.

Only some countries really care about that. The rest are happy to continue taking your money.

  3. You should be fine. 2018-19 i went to japan 7 times from Skorea, varying lengths with no issues going and coming back.

Fucking great being able to have a 2 hour flight to most of the country. Haneda was a great airport and Gimpo is pretty good too.
