Hello everyone,
I recently moved to Japan, and got my resident card with my current address. Currently, I’m thinking about going on a trip to Malaysia and Indonesia to visit some friends for 2 weeks, so I’m wondering if i can simply go and re-enter Japan with my resident card ? It maybe a stupid question, but i just want to be sure before buying anything.
Thank you all for your help, have a nice day !

As long as your card doesn’t expire before you come back you are cool. Make sure to fill out the re-entry paper at the airport.

You need your passport as well, of course.
When flying outside of Japan, after getting through security and before immigration, make sure to fill “departure” part on special re-entry permit. They will take that part and stamp “arrival” onto your passport. With that you are good to re-enter Japan within 1 year
I don’t quite understand, you thought there was a possibility that us foreign residents weren’t allowed to leave Japan for a short overseas trip? Of course, we are.
Don’t forget to use the special “Re-entry” channel when clearing immigration on your return. Makes you avoid long lines.
Remember to check entry procedures for both countries. Sometimes you need to apply for a visa in advance even for tourism. And that depends on your citizenship.
