USA applicant here and I put Wakayama as my top pick because I visited there once for like 2 days and loved the trees. Is that a popular area for applicants and are there any current JETs in Wakayama or surrounding areas with insights on living there? Any info is cool 🙂
EDIT: I reviewed my app the other day before my interview and for some unknown stress-induced reason I put hyogo instead ( i know nothing about hyogo) but im not mad about it. Thx to everyone who told me stuff abt wakayama lol !!

Wakayama has 42 Jets. It’s on the smaller side in terms of program participation.
Tough to definitively say if placement preference ever impacts end result. You’d need to survey people on their choices and what they got in the end.
