3rd edition is just a bit better, if you have 2nd ed already, just use that
Textbooks are good, though imperfect guides that help you approach the basics of a language. Generally revised editions will be slightly improved compared to those before, but I wouldn’t worry about some details. You will still manage to tackle the basics, be it the 2nd or 3rd edition.
Im currently using the 2nd edition books to learn, while also watching [tokini andys grammar videos](https://youtu.be/GaQBL4XHuSo) which are based on the 3rd edition. So far no problems. Enjoy the learning journey 😀
Genki 2nd edition was the most popular text book in western universities, including Harvard. It should be good enough for us too.
The 3rd edition may address minor errors and other minor tweaks. Importantly, it kills the competition the publisher and retailers faced from all the used 2nd edition books.

Second edition is just fine, but third edition has a better layout. Both will give you a good base for future growth.
