Anki wanikani user, help

Hi guys I’m deciding to use anki’s wanikani deck
I don’t have much money left to put into wanikani unfortunately.

The fact is that deck is splitted into

Radicals, kanji, and vocabulary.

They share the same parent deck
But if I follow this they show you always, firstly radical, whenever I will finish radical it will start kanji and so on.

How would you treat this? Or how you treated this

Thanks

  1. So this might not help but I am using the same deck. My method is to bounce between the subdecks as I feel. It sucks not having the premium WK guiding you on what to study next but thems the beans.

More helpful answer if you want to study by the WK levels you go to this page: [https://www.wanikani.com/level/23](https://www.wanikani.com/level/23) but change the 23 to whatever level you want and learn each card in anki in level order listed. Sounds like a lot of work to me but maybe this is what you are looking for.

  2. You can set specific new card limits for the subdecks.

So for example if you want to do 20 new cards total, you set the overall category to 20 new cards. And then maybe radicals to 10, kanji to 5 and vocabulary to 5.

Of course it’s not going to preserve the perfect mix and order, but at least you get a bit of everything, plus you can adjust if one category lags behind.
