Regular running shoes will be just fine. Find a comfy pair you like and go with that.
I personally liked using something that was comfy, with arch support, and that I could slip on/off easily, like Merrell Jungle Mocs.
All depends how strict/relaxed your school is.
I know some teachers who wear fabric slippers or sandals (slide on ones) for their indoor shoes. Majority have sneakers or business casual shoes.
Personally, I wear crocs. They’re ugly as sin but they’re convenient to get on and off in a hurry. Plus the little tidbits I add to them make good conversation with the students and staff lol.
Where I am, breathable is key in summer, Croc’s with a breathable fabric upper have been good. Another school is much more formal and requires dress shoes.
Vans
Sneakers without laces you can easily slip on and off!
Why not gym shoes? The ones with the elastic strap.
A nice pair of slip on sneakers.
I always wore vans, but the lighter version which is a bit more expensive but worth the comfort. I have flat feet, so I had to put some insoles in them. I have seen some Japanese teachers wear things like Nike slippers if you want to wear something like that.
Sneakers have been pretty hit or miss for me. Sweaty pair of shoes stuck in a shoe locker over the weekend isn’t the best smell to come back from.
I wore beige Toms the whole time. Matched everything and cute as heck :))
I’m rocking some Adidas Stan Smiths right now, but they are picking up all kinds of lint and schmutz, so I’m going to go back to Birkenstocks as soon as I find a pair in my size.
