Hello all. A little bit of intro – I’m 30, moving to Tokyo from Singapore in about a month and a half to take up a new job. My office is going to be in Otemachi; and although I’ve visited a couple of times in the past, I don’t have more than a rudimentary feel of what the different areas feel like yet. FWIW, I liked the vibe of Ebisu, the one time I was there. My criteria in descending order of priority would be
-A max 20 minute commute to work door to door. I start early and am not a morning person. I’ve always walked back, upto 45 minutes ok too but I’d prefer somewhere not more than 20mins door to door at 7AM.
->70sqm and preferably <3k USD (~400k JPY)
-If anyone is familiar with SG, I live in River Valley and love the area. Close enough to all the action but still nice and residential and green. I’ve lived in HK as well in the past; Sheung Wan.
-A lively vibe. Doesn’t necessarily mean nightlife but even cafes, parks, fitness options and the likes. I definitely plan on trying to learn Japanese seriously but since that’s going to be a long road – Facilities convenient for English speakers. Gyms, international cuisine, supermarkets and delivery options.
-Some green areas nearby or water would be nice but not mandatory
