This will be our first trip to Japan. Myself, my wife and my 18 year old son for his graduation present. My son is really into video games,Pokémon and Anime. We’re planning on staying the night in Tokyo the entire time except the 2 days in Kyoto. We’re planning on just keeping our hotel room in Tokyo but carry enough with us for the 2 nights in Kyoto to avoid checking in and out.
Day 1 (Tuesday 6/6/23):
– Arrive to Haneda Airport at 4:25pm
– Explore area around hotel (Hamamatsucho)
– Rainbow bridge if not too tired
Day 2 (Wednesday 6/7/23):
– Shibuya
1. Shibuya Crossing: Shibuya scramble square, Shibuya Sky, Starbucks
2. Koen Dori shopping street on way to Yoyogi Park (go to Nintendo store in this area)
3. Yoyogi Park
4. Harajuku: Takeshita Street, Cat Street, Kiddy Land (store)
Day 3 (Thursday 6/8/23):
– Train to Kyoto
1. Explore Kyoto Station
2. Arashiyama
3. Nishiki Market and/or Pontocho Alley (food)
Day 4 (Friday 6/9/23):
– Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine
– Gion District
– Kiyomizu-Dera Temple
1. Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka
– Pontocho Alley (if not visited on Day 3)
Day 5 (Saturday 6/10/23):
– Train to Hiroshima
– Flower Festival
– Train back to Tokyo/hotel
Day 6 (Sunday 6/11/23):
– Akihabara
1. Chuo-dori Street
2. Arcades (Gigo, Taito HEY)
