minna no nihongo 1

hi, i need to buy the textbook and the accompanying grammatical guide but i’m not sure which one i’m supposed to buy/what it looks like bc there are a lot of options on amazon

  1. Tae Kim’s Guide to Learning Japanese is free online. It’s as good as any textbook or grammar guide you can buy on Amazon.

    Keep in mind though that studying textbooks isn’t the focal point of learning a language. Ideally, immersion should make up the bulk of your studies with everything else as supplemental.

  2. You’ll get lots of people who assert “the best way to learn Japanese is xyz”

    Just want to say that when I lived in Japan for 2 years during covid and attended a Japanese language school, Minna no nihongo was what they used. I had a positive experience with it.

    Which books you need will depend on your specific course. For us semester 1 we used these 2:
