So context 38F trans and my name is Onna (I think some of you might know where I’m going with this), I picked it for a lot of reasons but was going for an old Hollywood glamour vibe mostly. I find out years later in means women in Japanese ( I know that is an oversimplification). Would it be wrong to make a pin with the 女 character on it and put it on “that ” jean jacket with my pronoun and other pins like a name tag, I don’t speak the language but I think just a multi-lingual pun to good to pass up. Or would it just give a white girl with random Asian character tattoo vibes. Like once you learn my name the joke works in the other direction too right?

Here is a famous poetess with the name

Pretty sure it’s a last name, and a place in okinawa.
As to 女, as you’re only using one character and there’s not much chance of it being misinterpreted, and not getting it as a tattoo, I think you’re probably safe.
