Hello my fellow sushi lovers! Yesterday I made at home sushi for one of my friends birthday and this is the plate that came out. Unfortunately it’s harder and harder to find quality salmon in my country, even if the price has doubled. What’s the price for 1 kg raw fillet salmon in your country?

2. This is a beautiful platter. I pay around $42 USD per kilo for fresh, sushi grade salmon at a local Asian grocery store with a crazy good sushi selection. That’s $18.99/lb for those who measure in freedom units.

3. Tasmania Australia. About $30 AUD. Up to $90 at the fancy places.

4. Beautiful! Must have been a lot of work. Here it’s around 20-25euros per kilo for farmed salmon. Wild salmon goes up to 60.

16. 500-700 NOK/kg (50-70€/$) Salma fresh sushi grade quality in Norway, not pre-frozen. Salmon has doubled in price in just one year. Only salmon moderate priced is the frozen, but that’s usually B-rated quality. Salma are now more expensive than beef tenderloin.

    4x125g package fresh salmon, skin on, no bone are now 169,- NOK, used to be 89,- last summer.
    But today Rema had Salma sushi filet for 330,-/kg – and I bought for me and my wife for monday’s dinner.
