There was no suicide note so accidental discharge seems just as likely (and far from uncommon with Japanese police). Hobson’s choice for his superiors, do they present it as someone close to the PM is armed and suicidal, or armed and capable of deadly accidental discharges. Either way, another in a growing series of security weaknesses around the PM’s office.
So, the prime minister’s residence is now a “jiko bukken?”
