Delta website telling me I cant get back into Japan, but this is just a system error right?

Delta has a generic search feature where you put in your nationality and departure/arrival locations.

https://www.delta.com/us/en/travel-planning-center/find-your-destination/explore-top-destinations?prices=false

I put in the location info for my trip to the US and the website is saying Japan would not “accept my entry” but im 99% sure this is because this system is too basic to realize people with visas can get reentry permits when first departing Japan.

Im almost certain this is just Delta being dumb but just in case want to double check here that as long as I get my reentry permit when heading out, and a negative PCR test on my way back here I shouldnt run into any problems, correct?

  1. Are you currently a resident here on PR/work visa? Then, no issues about coming back with the PCR test and the usual re-entry permit that you fill out at the airport before leaving.

  2. Are you searching round trip?

Because I booked a flight via Delta for jpn-us-jpn and there was no such issue.

  3. You have to call delta or book in person at the delta counter. Given call wait times in my experience you may want to go in person if possible.

  4. Read the section titled “Entry Requirements” on that page after putting in your info.

You have a valid visa right? You’ll be fine. Just get the reentry permit at the airport upon departure from Japan, same as always. Make sure you get a negative result from a COVID test up to 72 hours before coming back too.

  5. As long as you have a valid re-entry permit and visa then you can come back (plus PCR test)

The airline staff have no clue. Remember basically nobody outside of long term residents have been traveling to Japan for the past two years. The first time I traveled outside of Japan during the pandemic, the airline person in the U.S. said “you can’t go to Japan” and tried to convince me I didn’t know what I was doing despite the fact I had a valid visa and all the necessary documentation. All they know is what their system tells them.

  6. Yeah, the app basically only works for people in Arkansas now. Delta has gone myopic.

  7. Don’t forget theySOS app and all the steps there…main one is upload vac certs and PCR test
