Has anyone had endoscopic sinus surgery in Japan? If you did – how did it go? Did you have to stay overnight in the hospital? Approximate costs (if on national health insurance)?
I found out I need to have this procedure done later in the summer in Tokyo.

I’m an ENT surgeon from the UK holidaying in Japan having happened across this sub-ESS is such a broad range of procedures, without access to your scans and pathology no one can tell you what to expect.
Best ask your surgeon, in the UK the vast majority are go home the same day with 1 week of work cases, but again, this is highly variable on a case by case basis. Ask your surgeon or his secretary.
