7D/7N First-time travel itinerary (Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto/Yokohama/Tokyo) review and suggestions, please :)

Hi, My friend and I are traveling to Tokyo from India in the last week of May. Here is a rough itinerary and would love to know your thoughts and critiques regarding viability, expense, etc.

* Day 1: Tokyo
Nihonbashi, Asakusa, Kit Kat store, Shibuya crossing

* Day 2: Fly to Osaka
Osaka tenmangu , Umeda sky building, Dotonbori

* Day 3,4: Kyoto
Fushimi Inari Taisha, Higashiyama Jisho-ji, Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, Sanneizaka(Sannenzaka), Higashiyama

* Day 5: Buffer (any inputs are more than welcome here)

* Day 6: Yokohama
Yamashita Park, Chinatown

* Day 7: Tokyo
Meiji Jingu, Ginza strip, TeamLab Planets

* Day 8: Morning flight back to India

Here are some other things I would like to do/see during this trip, but not sure how to fit them in – Okinawa (snorkeling, Blue Cave, Shuri castle), the Suzuka circuit, and the Arashiyama bamboo forest. What do you think??

    I think your plan is already *way* too much and thinking of adding ***more*** to it is absolutely bonkers.

    7 days is not enough to properly do both Tokyo and Kyoto/Osaka. By traveling to a different place practically every day, you essentially guarantee you experience none of them. You would be best off staying in one or the other. Do Tokyo + a couple day trips to Kamakura, Yokohama, Hakone, etc. or do Kyoto/Osaka with a couple day trips to Nara, Arashiyama, etc.

  2. If it’s your first time, may I suggest taking shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka? You can take planes anywhere. Only Japan has shinkansen.

    Like other comment said, you’re hitting too many cities.

    Another suggestion. If you’re visiting Yokohama, consider stopping by the Gundam Factory. It’s likely a once in a lifetime experience.
