I just can’t seem to remember words which I saw in videos and stuff so decided to start putting them as flashcards on Anki but I hate Anki. Is there any other good app which is similar to Anki and has Furigana support and a good text editor for adding cards?
My text editor requirements-
* Able to change styling for individual words
* Furigana support
* Good interface

Anki is a very powerful program when used in combination with other software such as Yomichan; you can create high-quality cards that contain furigana, pronunciation, custom images and other goodies with very little effort. The initial setup is quite daunting though. Use [this](https://animecards.site/ankisetup/) guide (it’s the best one I could find, just don’t go to their discord) to navigate through the process.
It sounds to me (*you haven’t specified*) that your problem with Anki is its woeful data model and interface, and not so much in actually using it once set up.
If that’s the case then my advice is to just bite the bullet and adapt yourself to it. Cards don’t need to be perfect. Their purpose is not to teach you anything, but to remind you of what you already know but are on the verge of forgetting. As long as the cards jog your memory then they have done their job. They don’t need to be perfect, nor polished and pretty.
Stop wasting time looking for ideal tools and get on with pounding that vocab into your head.
Firstly, to give you an alternative, memrise is used by a lot of folks for it’s better interface/ease of use. But it comes with it’s limitations, for custom decks you can only use the web version as far I know.
Now looking at your previous post and comments here, your main gripe is how complex anki is or how unintuitive it is. As others have mentioned, this is honestly a symptom of it’s powerful set of tools. If you plan to make your own note cards, I really recommend taking the time to learn anki instead. It may be painful and take time to get used to, but overall it will save you so much more time.
I like Memrise really much, there are already existing sets of vocabulary, kanji and so on (even in terms of JLPT). Highly recommending 🙂
Ive never used anki.. i started with Renshuu and never needed anything else.. theres no text editor per say but you add words to your lesson via pre structured lessons, or via dictonary.. but its the whole srs system youre looking for for vocab, kanji, and grammer.. and includes furigana and has a nice interface imo with different fonts that can rotate by day..
I wasn’t a fan of anki either but I like lexilize much more!
