1. It could be, but normally their face is a little bit more fluffy.

4. THAT is a tanuki! Lucky you!
   Foxes aren’t so scrubby looking, and kamoshika have hooves.
   Tanuki in video games are cute and fluffy. Actual tanuki just look like wild animals (auspicious wild animals!) ^ ^
