The Language School closed…

As the title says, two of my classmates had applied to a language institute in Hiroshima but the language school closed ( likely due to COVID). They already had their COE issued by the said school and just had to get the hard copy to apply for visa. What are their options? Anything would help.

  1. If the school has gone out of business then the CoE is no longer valid and should be returned to immigration.

Your friends will need to start the process over again with a new school.

  2. The languange school i and my friends planned to go to also closed down. We were actually given an option to enter as their student and later transfer to another school. I would say see if your friends’ school is able and willing to do that first.

Unfortunately for me, that option too is scrapped since they decided to not go that route. So we are planning to apply to another school.

Edit: Forgot to mention that we also already received our CoE, so we should be in a similar spot.

  3. I’d be more concerned about the tuition in this case, I’d assume they have to return it?
