I was reading a manga recently “Hime-Chan No Ribbon” in English, and the pronouns “Kan, Chan, San, etc”…

not likely a typo, just a difference in pronunciation. similar to saying ‘wassup’ instead of ‘what’s up’ same meaning but less formal
a っ at the end of a word indicates a clipped pronounciation (or glottal stop). so this would be someone saying it quickly, cheerfully, and/or impatiently
