Best place to find Japanese tutors?

Hello everyone, I am still very new to learning Japanese, I’ve learned Hiragana and am currently working on learning Katakana. I’ve been using various apps to work on memorizing characters and just a small handful of vocab, but I think it would be easier for me to learn the language if I had a tutor. There are no irl tutors near me so I was looking for online tutor recommendations! Whether it’s through an app or website, I’d appreciate your feedback 🙂

  1. ITalki is usually the one I’ve seen recommended on here.

If you’re using Genki, you could also try tokiniandy.com which is not tutoring, but a much more guided and structured approach with supplementary materials. It may be a happy medium and much more affordable.

  2. Definitely italki ✌️ I have about three main Japanese teachers. They’re amazing.

  3. I’m several lessons into working through Genki with a tutor and it’s done wonders for my motivation

  4. I like Nihongopro. Good value for money for me and after a nightmare experience I am happy the platform only features selected native and certified tutors. I just have the one teacher whose time works with mine so it’s nice for me to progress with that particular tutor.
