General inquiry about moving to Japan

Hello all! So without getting into too many details, I’m currently employed by a large international corporation, and I am inquiring about positions abroad, specifically in Japan. I would be eligible for a transfer come January, and I’m looking for any advice, tips, anecdotes or good information that anyone can share as I consider this further. I’ve never been outside of the US so this would be a huge move for me. If I decide to go I think that I’ll only commit to being there 1-2 years, at least initially. A little more about me is that I’m from the US as I mentioned before, I’m 24 years old and single. I’m a huge gamer and I like to casually watch anime but I wouldn’t consider myself a hardcore weeb or anything like that. I’m also Catholic and am going to try and move somewhere relatively close to a Catholic Church. Thank you in advance to anyone who gives advice!
