Anyone know a physical store where I can get binoculars for a concert?

Lottery gave me pretty far-away seats for the TWICE concert, but it’s in two days so I don’t have time to order binoculars online. I could probably go without but I’m nearsighted so I’d like to have the option at least :,)

  1. This seems like a post about shopping, maybe your question is solved by [the wiki page](https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/wiki/shopping)?

  2. Try Donki for something affordable, or a big electronics store for something that’s probably not.

  3. I’ve seen some mono/binoculars at Hands (Tokyu hands), probably worth checking them, esp big branches of it, like the one in Shinjuku- seven floors, I think?

  4. Bic Camera or Yodobashi Camera would be your friend.

I remember the Bic Camera in Akihabara actually having set up a mini range on the floor that sells binoculars ^(3rd or 4th floor if I remember) by hanging little owl stuffed toys from the ceiling at set distance intervals along the corridor so you can see exactly how effective your binoculars is at distances.

  5. Tower Records Shibuya has them. I forgot what floor it’s on, but whatever floor has the anime cds on it I saw a half aisle full of stuff to make your own fan signs and binoculars in different colors near the center of the space. Not sure if the other stores have that display though.

  6. I’d buy then second-hand at a recycle store like Book Off, Hard Off, or online in Yahoo Auctions or Mercari

  7. I hope you can find glasses light enough to hold with just one hand. They’d be best for a TWICE concert.

  8. Yodobashi or Bic camera have a big selection ranging from very cheap (900¥) to reasonable (¥2000-3000) to otaku level (¥50,000)

  9. Depends what city you are in, but any big camera store will have them. If you are not in a big city, try recycle shops like hard off or second street. You can probably get a set for almost nothing from Yahoo auctions too

  10. Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara has a huge selection 🙂 (3rd floor) my husband recommends Kowa-brand binoculars.

They even have posters showing the distance to various arenas’ stages and recommended magnification ! Good luck
