I’m going to Tokyo with my friends and siblings for a few days in June. My brother wants to visit an aquarium to see sharks, but I can’t find one that has them. Has anyone been to one that has them and is worth the money?
Wouldn’t recommend an aquarium in Japan. Most sharks (especially whale sharks) are collected from hunts (and not “rescued”) and die within a few months/years. To be honest, as much as I love Japan, I wouldn’t recommend any place using animals for entertainment, not even animal cafes, as they tend to see animals as cute mascots and not actual living beings with specific needs…
Most aquariums have sharks. What type of shark does your brother want to see?
Sunshine aquarium in ikebukuro and Shinagawa aquarium are pretty famous.
