I’m currently working on my bachelors in TESOL-Teaching at UNI. I have an agreement with one of my grants to teach for four years in low-income schools in my state, so I’ll be in the U.S. for another 4-5 more years before I apply for JET. This is a lot later than I had planned, but it just seems to make more sense to me to go this route. In the meantime, I’ve been experiencing the JET application process vicariously through this subreddit as well as person connections 🙂 I guess you could also call it lurking lol
Not me but my SO. For context this was pre-pandemic 2019-2020. I helped prepare my SOs application for JET. During that time my SO was taking Masters in education and already had 5 years of teaching English in private institutions. No word spoken of Nihongo so I’m not sure if that’s what ultimately led to not making the cut.
me. when will be the first screening result be?

I am unsure with my application but I believe in miracle. The result of the first screening will be out mid-January. God Bless everyone! See you in Japan! 😌
