Smart bike trainer

Hello all,
I want to buy a smart bike trainer. Looking for advice on where to buy? Any recommendations ? I’m based in hokkaido.
Thank you in advance for your help.

  1. This seems like a post about shopping, maybe your question is solved by [the wiki page](https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/wiki/shopping)?

  2. I bought a Renpho AI bike from Amazon.jp It’s super quiet, comfortable, and works great for zwift.

  3. Are you looking for an exercise bike? A direct drive? Something that doesn’t require you to take your rear wheel off? There are a lot of options. I personally use a Wahoo Kickr Core and love it. It also works as a power meter for added data and pairs wonderfully with Zwift.

  4. I would buy online. You can use kakaku to price things and find the cheapest online option.

If it is in your budget, I would also recommend the Wahoo Kickr that someone else mentioned. It is a fantastic smart trainer.

  5. This is another vote for the Kickr from Wahoo. Just try to get a newer model, they have been through a few revisions. When I moved to Japan we brought one of ours with us.

Looking at Mercari there are a few kicking around and now is probably a good time to pick one up as people may sell them in the summer when they don’t need them. Wiggle is a UK based company, but they ship to Japan and it looks like they also have some Wahoo products if you want brand new.

Or just run down to a local shop! Smart trainers are really popular in Japan. I have a few teammates here that ride / race on Zwift year round.
