VISA Complications

Long story short, I quit my job half a year ago and only just got offered a job. Although immigrations is well aware of my situation and my visa hasn’t technically expired, I’m wondering if the fact that I’ve been unemployed for so long will likely result in me getting denied a visa change from instructor to whatever English Conversation Schools do.
Does anyone know if I’ll likely get rejected or if it should be ok?

  1. If your current job is willing to sponsor your renewal you shouldn’t have any major issues. Have you discussed your visa renewal with the new company?

  2. If your new job is within your current status category, there should be no problem. As it’s the first time you are renewing with this company, there is more than usual paperwork required (company registration etc, check the needed docs on immigration website)

The lenght you were unemployed doesnt matter. I was unemployed for about 6 months, and renewing my status went through without problem. At renewal, what matters is “does your current condition allows you to renew your status or not?”

Don’t forget to notify immigration of your job change!
