So I’m leaving in about a week from Japan, and I can’t seem to find a ATM that has a lesser withdrawal minimum than 10,000 yen. Which was fine while I’m here but I won’t need that much before I leave and we’ll end up exchanging it at a currency exchange counter for less than it’s worth with the exchange rate and fee. So I’m just wondering does anybody know of any ATMs that take overseas cards that have a lower minimum withdrawal? I’ve tried lawson, family mart, 7-Eleven and I thought I would ask around.

It’s not that much money, even if you don’t “need” that much just buy lunch with cash a few times or something.
I went to the atms at the convenience stores you mentioned and there was definitely an option to pull out less. There should be a selection option on the screen to enter other amounts if you want to pull out less. https://www.sevenbank.co.jp/intlcard/service2.html

As someone who lives here and occasionally uses my foreign card, if you can find an AEON one (they’re pink usually I think) that one let’s me take it out in 1000 yen increments. I think they’re usually at Ministops if you can find one of those with an ATM inside (at least in my city).

Just press the “different amount “ and you enter what you need, I recall withdrawing 5,000 not long ago.
You just need to look around a bit. Most convenience stores have the option to withdraw in 1000¥ steps. The issue is that many don‘t actually have 1000¥ bills available. Sometimes you get lucky though.
The last time I got lucky was at a store called „mini stop“ or sth. It was 24 hours as well, but a smaller chain apparently.

Mizuho ATMs have 1000 yen withdrawal limits. Look out for the blue atms at stations.
When I visited a few years ago, I ended up putting my last cash into the Narita Express ticket machine, as I recall. Those are fairly expensive tickets (>3k each) so it’s pretty easy to eat up your last yen.
Of course, there are cheaper ways to get to the airport.
