Which apparel stores in Japan sell imported clothes from the US?

I went back to my home country (US) during GW and was surprised how well so many of the clothes fit me. Went to a random store, tried on a few shirts, and the difference was like night and day. Apparently, a size L shirt (men’s) in the US is designed perfectly for my body shape.

I’ve found clothes in Japan that *sort of* fit me, but something is always off. A size L here is usually too narrow in the shoulders, and an XL is too baggy, and the sleeves too long.

I’ve seen similar posts on here where people suggest stores like H&M but the clothes there must be refashioned for a Japanese body type. I haven’t had a ton of luck there.

Does anyone know of stores that sell clothes imported from the US that were designed for an American market?

  1. GAP seems pretty standard American sized. Also other brands like Hollister, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger match pretty well.

If you’re into secondhand clothes, you can always go to those american markets like Ueno, or the different stores in ShimoKitazawa and find used clothes that are from America too.

  2. Hello similar body type friend. LL Bean has American and Japanese size lines. Their online store is good. If you can get to one of their shops to try on a few sizes from both lines, you can then order what you want online. Large shoe sizes too, in case you wear anything larger than a 26cm.
