Late-night study spots?

Hi everyone!

I’ll be having exams from tomorrow and was wondering if there are any study spots at night in Tokyo?

I’ve seen that most cafés are closed by 12 AM – most earlier – and haven’t been able to find a lot of alternatives.

Feel free to let me know your hidden spots! 😀

  1. unless you haven’t studied at all, i’d recommend taking rest before the exams.

  2. I think some ガスト are open 24 hours. Stayed at on when I missed my last train

  3. Net cafe? Try your best at avoiding picking up any of the dvds available for free though

  4. My fav spot for study at night would be my local 24hours coin laundry. It’s late so no one will be doing laundry, even if someone do it they will come and pick it up in the morning so i can enjoy the whole thing for myself noy yo mention there’s something about the warm air and smell of freshly washed and dried clothes that just hit the spot on a cold lonely night.

  5. Net/manga cafes. Free drinks and wifi. However there’s a high chance of an ojisan snoring in the booth next to you. Headphones are a must, or use one of those “open seats” that are just regular seats and tables distant from the booth section.

  6. Before covid, several Mcdonald’s outlets around me were 24h. A couple of them had opening/closing hours implemented when covid hit, but a few still remain open 24h.

  7. Why not rent a hotel? You could get a business hotel for 10,000 yen or less and have complete privacy with a desk, fridge, kettle.

  8. McDonalds. That’s where a lot of uni students go.

A 24 hour ガスト is also another option

  9. I used to go to the Bagus in Ikebukuro to do a 37-page essay at 2am and stay till the morning. Kept stepping outside my cubicle for free ice-cream and drinks so it took a long time finish the essay 😅
