Mum ordered a box of 20 Nissin Cup Noodles from her friend in Japan and she received these “Squid pack” freebies that she’s not aware how to eat them properly. Do I have to open them up and eat them right away? Or there’s a specific way to prepare them to maximize their taste?

  1. Just eat as-is. Sometimes I warm them gently over a flame or the embers of a coal just to get a bit of smokiness and get the oils flowing.

  2. It’s mostly a snack to be eaten as is, but you can also stir fry it with a little hot sauce or teriyaki and have with rice and simple veggies. Sooooo yummy!!! I miss getting them in care packages growing up…

  3. It’s a snack, you can eat it straight from the bag. You can treat it like a bar snack- goes well with beer, chu-hi or any cold drink really.

  4. You just eat it from the bag. Movie theaters sell it in the concession stand along with popcorn.

  5. left one is individually package dried squid flavored with vinegar, next to it. smoked dried squid ( from Okinawa San A grocery store!) , next is spicy walleye pollack roe flavored squid (mentaiko) and left one is pretty easy to figure out, cheezu ika (squid)
