So the JET desk sent me this email because one of my references has a generic email. I had alerted them prior to submitting my reference about their email and nothing was said. Now I have received this:
“Dear Applicant,
Use official and business emails only. Any reference submitted by a generic email address will not be considered without prior consultation with the JET Desk. Some examples of generic email addresses are: gmail.com, hotmail.com, live.com, yahoo.com, shaw.ca, [hanmail.com](https://hanmail.com).
If a business or contact card is available, then clear photos or scans of physical cards may be sent to us via the jet@jetprogramme.ca email.
If one of these cannot be provided, then unfortunately they will not be considered as a valid reference, and we request that you find another one.
Provide a proof of the referee’s employment and position to jet@jetprogramme.ca by November 25th to remain eligible.

I have a copy of the weekly schedule with our names on it and our boss and confirm her employment but we don’t have business cards or anything like that with individual employees info on it. What else can I do to prove employment? My previous years references never had this problem before and they had generic email addresses.

Does this person have business cards? If they do you can send the JET desk a copy of their business card.
I worked at a place that didn’t have an official email, I just emailed the consulate (Vancouver) to let them know that and they said it was okay. Just let your consulate know.
I teach ESL online and I used one of my students. Maybe find someone who can willingly be your reference….Do you guys have a company stamp or a letter head? Please ask if this could be useful…
Why are people downvoting the hell out of OP? This is a legitimate question/concern. I used to work at a small local business and they didn’t have business cards or company emails for each employee. Why is everyone assuming so?
Aside from this, the Vancouver JET people also asked me to verify my references this year despite not asking in the past. They accepted a current work schedule sheet with my references full names on it and I just blocked out the other employees information.
I know I privately DM’d you a solution but since some people are being uncivil here and accuse me of providing no help I’ll say it again.
JET accepted a time sheet record of employment of employees as a way to verify references. Try that.
