I want to switch from redbull/monster to something local; cheaper than these is also a plus. What local energydrinks are there?
Criterias
* should be available at familymart, lawson or seven, preferably all but at least one of them
* should contain some energydrink-ish substance, such as caffeine, guarana etc. i.e. something boosted only with vitamin C etc doesnt count.
* Can be of any size, i.e. yes something from that shelf of dozens of weird small bottles, with C, D vitamin and other stuff does count.
* sugarfree is also preferable
Anything that matches my criterias?

Zone makes some OK flavors and comes in a big can. The flavors don’t seem to stick around for long though and the original is just a cheaper version of Monster.
Real Gold seems to check most of your boxes.
リポビタンD is my occasional choice. Made with taurine and caffeine but I think it does contain sugars as well. Nice taste.
There’s also boss coffee with 200mg caffeine

There is that one called 川. There are a lot of flavors but I like the blue one because it’s sugar free.
If you find a Cherio Drink Vending Machine, buy Jungleman. It is a pet bottle that costs only 100yen and drank by the Japan Self Defense Force.
Dekavita is nice
Some of those “weird small bottles” have taurine, caffeine, nicotine, and a bunch of other compounds. I forget the exact names but Vitovita(?) and something D with an Eagle on it are alright.
Wasn’t ripovitan D the precursor to redbull? The stuff is going to be basically the same, just in a smaller, cheaper package with less sugar. More like 110 yen per bottle I think, although i haven’t had any in years.
Just eat an apple.
