I am trying to sponsor a helper in Japan however the requirements are confusing… would love to know what I can do to be eligible. My profile:
* Already live in Japan for 2+ years
* Have a baby, 2 months old (born in Japan)
* Both parents working (currently on Childcare leave but back to work soon)
* Visa status: «Eng/Specialist in Humanities/Intl Services>
* Salary (not sure if this matters) ~200K usd / yr / spouse
Per my understanding, I dont qualify due to VISA type which I am confused why 🙁 anything I can do? Or am I actually qualified?

That is correct. The ***only*** visa type that can sponsor a helper is the Highly Skilled Foreign Professional (HSFP) visa.
If you’re both making 25 million per year, it seems unlikely neither of you have at least a master’s so it wouldn’t take that much to get enough points for a HSFP visa. Just your pay alone is 40 or even 50 points. If you’re under 40yo that’s another few points. Master’s is another 20. Career experience or language skills would easily take you over the required 70 point minimum. Once on that visa you can sponsor.
