I haven’t been watching for *that* long, so maybe it’s been done at some point, but it’s definitely not a common thing. This is one more little step in updating (and arguably, modernizing) the Young Lion system and protocols; as NJPW/BUSHIROAD previously said they were aiming to do.
Currently the Cheering Towels are only on the [online Japanese shop](https://shop.njpw.co.jp/collections/towel) (they will **not** be sold in the physical store in Japan or at shows), but I’d hope they’ll eventually run a pre-order on the Global Shop. Especially since they’ve got the European representation going with Oskar and Oleg.

Shota and Ren Narita are definitely not Young Lions anymore and Kosei just joined TMDK but he is more akin to Mox’s Shooter days with Shota before he split off to do his own thing. the rest however shouldn’t have merch but what should i know, its not like i have been watching njpw for a long time now
I can’t wait for Leube and Oleg to become a MONSTER tag team a la Killer Elite Squad.
The only other time I can remember YLs getting merch in the Bushiroad era was when Finlay and Henare had merch while in that weird transition phase. They weren’t YLs anymore, but they really weren’t treated as full roster members either.

Huh, weird. I sort of get it for Shota, Kosei, and Ren, since they’ve all moved pretty clearly beyond just being Young Lions (Shota has returned with a new character, and Kosei and Ren are both in factions), but it’s a little bit random for the others.
Oh well, good for them!

I really wanted to say that Oskar Leube might end up being really impressive. Dude has some size on him and moves well.
Shota Umino was released from the cloning lab way too soon. Tanahashi is still alive…
shota and narita definitely aren’t young lions anymore, you could argue the same for fujita. but it’s nice to see the other youngsters get some merch
Absolute scenes in this thread where OP has to explain that no he doesn’t think ren and shota are young lions he just didn’t want to go to the effort of cropping them out the advert.
I assume op thought a bright chimp who follows new japan could work out what was going on. Alas this sub is once again operating on below chimp levels
When I originally read the op I thought if anything was going to derail the thread it’s a debate on if oleg is Europe representation but no it’s getting confused by an advert.
