The most important stance the US president should take is to stress the physical trauma and atrocity that is the use of nuclear weapons and to emphasize that such an event should never occur again in human history. These days it seem naive to strive for such a world, but the city of Hiroshima symbolizes world peace. I hope world leaders can visit the city and be moved even slightly towards collectively achieving that outcome.

5. Doesn’t fucking matter if US apologizes or not. Whether it’s the states apologizing for Hiroshima or Japan apologizing for comfort women and other war crimes, or China apologizing for the tiananmen massacre. It would just go on and on..

8. Really, they don’t need to apologise. It’s a common Japanese thought that the nuclear booms (whilst tertible) were needed to stop the war.

   From 90 year olds to teenagers, they tend to agree. You can watch videos on YouTube of interviews with Japanese veterans that understood the use of nuclear weapons.

   The important thing is that we learn and make sure we don’t end up in that situation again, not a fucking apology!

   If the United States had not put an end to Japan with the A-bomb, there is a possibility that Japanese imperial army could have expanded and established over 700 military bases worldwide. It might have invaded numerous countries under the pretext of false wars, resulting in the loss of millions of lives. We are grateful that the United States intervened in that situation. God bless AMERICA

10. Nor like Japan will try any harder to apologize to all the countries in Asia that they looted and so all millions of people that they raped, tortured and killed.

    The US did what it did to end a war with a militaristic, mustering country and rightfully so.
