Translation app

The gas guy came yesterday to do some yearly inspection. I don’t speak Japanese but can easily say that in Japanese. He says “ok” and pulls out his iphone. He opens some app I’ve never seen before and speak into the phone. It was a perfect translation. Anyone have any idea what the app is? All I can really tell you about it is that it had some green parts on the interface.

  1. I had an operation not long ago and when I was being admitted into the hospital they asked if I minded installing VoiceTra on my phone.

It worked quiet well, but I still tend to default to Microsoft Translator which seems to handle longer sentences better.

  2. Could be Microsoft translate. It has that feature, but I’ve never tried it.

  3. DeepL has it’s perfect-native-sounding times (and it’s not-so-perfect times)

  4. That app may use an original system, but a lot of those tamagochi-like devices you see in every electronics store just use Google or Microsoft translator’s API.
