Opening up an online store on Shopify, do I need to make an offical business for it?

As the title says I plan on opening a store on Shopify. But I worry I may need to make it an offical business. Looking at the requirements for setting up an offical business I don’t meet any of [these requirements](https://i.imgur.com/uGLoK9H.png). I am too unwell to work a normal job, I have PR, I hardly have any money to my name and am living off my last remaining savings, this is something I hope will bring me in some money.

Any help, direction, or commentary is very much appreciated.

  1. You have PR?

Simply go to your local tax office, fill out a paper for “kojin jigyou” and that’s it.You’re now self employed.

That requirement you linked is for business visa. You have PR, you can do anything. No question asked.

I’m self employed since 2015, and I don’t have PR, just the ordinary long-term 3 year visa. I sell on my online store, do web design for a friend in UK, sell crappy chinese stuff on amazon, and a few other stuff.

  2. … you do know that you’re going to need some money up front to get your store started… like, you need a product to sell, or else materials to produce it lol.

What are you planning on selling?
