Mold regulations and laws in japan?

I’m in the process of getting a new apartment in japan. I went to view the property in person and saw THIS ([picture attached](https://pasteboard.co/LBTF3CNVwTpW.jpg)). I have no knowledge of how these types if problems are handled in Japan or what my rights are. My agency company us going to request for the bathroom to be reconstructed. However they may decline. Please tell me everything I should know. And… do you think that this is black mold??? 💀

  1. That’s actually not that bad considering how old the property looks. As far as I know that type of mold is not particularly harmful to your body. Most of my Japanese relatives, including really old ones, have been living with it as an inevitability.
Unfortunately I don’t think you have much in terms of rights since it’s sort of normal.

You can get rid of it, at least temporarily, using deep cleaning agents made for mold.

  2. Looks like it’s black mold( try spraying the wall with a dilute bleach solution and it can get rid of it
