Apps to learn in your free time? (On the toilet, on the train, eating food, etc,)

Yk, besides the typical Genki + Tae kim + Anki combo, what else can you do to supplement your learning when bored or can squeeze in a few minutes of learning?

Need something to do during a brownout, or on the toilet and such. Any app recs? Thanks !

  1. I use Ringotan to practice Kanji writing (it also has kana, BTW). It uses SRS and it lets you change the order they appear based on several sources (Genki, RTK, Wanikani…).

Then there’s “TODAI: Easy Japanese News”, a recopilation of multiple news sources with vocabulary highlighted depending on JLPT level.

  2. Obligatory Duolingo

I like it because it has a heavy focus on sentences.

In 2nd place for me is Memrise. Its main focus is words but its alright.

  3. Renshuu is great for vocab quizzes if you’re past the basics of grammar. I’ve been going through the graded readers on tadoku.org lately too

  4. Bun pro works pretty well on mobile even with just the browser. Wanikani as well

  5. try beelinguapp if you want to read stories etc, there’s many different topics for different knowledge levels
