Pension and resident tax for dependent

My spouse has been living with me here since February ‘22. We are planning on leaving Japan in a month or so. While reading into leaving procedure, I realized I haven’t filed my spouse’s pension payment. Her health-insurance is taken care of by my employer but not sure if her pension is filed by them. Is there a way I can check/pay the pension with Nenkin?
I believe I will be able to take care of her (and mine) residence tax for ‘22 in June but I am concerned about the pension payment. I will also apply for my lump-sum withdrawal so I want to resolve this first. Appreciate all your help!

p.s. She is not employed / earning here.

You’re leaving in a month, you’ve been here for ~14 months. You will pay 16k jpy per month missed, then have to wait about 1 month for their system to show you paid, and then file a lump-sum withdraw to get the money you just paid given back to you.

She has no income, so therefore she has no residence tax liability.

Honest question, do you like making your life miserable and filling out paperwork for no real gain?

  2. Assuming your employer registered her correctly (and they likely did since they got her health insurance sorted out), then she’s considered to be paying into pension as a category III insured person. She doesn’t have to pay, but still gets the benefits. I’m not sure how that works with the lump-sum pension repayment scheme, though (if it does at all).
