Itinerary Check – 14 Days – Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima

**Day 1 – 18 August – Tokyo**

\- Arrive in Tokyo at 1 PM

\- Check in to hotel

\- Explore Tokyo – pretty open ended, we didn’t want to commit to anything as we’ll likely be tired from travel

**Day 2 – 19 August – Tokyo**

\- Explore Akihabara

\- Senso-ji

\- Hashimoto Unagi for dinner

**Day 3 – 20 August – Tokyo**

\- Explore Harajuku

\- Aikikai Foundation Hombu Dojo – just need to get a picture for a family member

\- Studio Ghibli Museum

\- Shinjuku Golden Gai for dinner

**Day 4 – 21 August – Tokyo**

\- DisneySEA

**Day 5 – 22 August – Tokyo -> Kyoto**

\- Shin-Yokohama Ramen museum

\- Stop in Harakone to see Mount Fuji

**Day 6 – 23 August – Kyoto**

\- Kiyomizu-dera

\- Nanzen-ji

\- Fushimi-Inari

\- Pontocho Park/Nishiki Market for dinner

**Day 7 – 24 August – Kyoto**

\- Kinkaku-ji

\- Arashiama

\- Tenryu-ji

**Day 8 – 25 August – Kyoto -> Nara -> Kyoto**

\- Nara Park

\- Tadai-ji

**Day 9 – 26 August – Kyoto -> Hiroshima -> Osaka**

\- Atomic Dome

\- Itsukushima Jinja

**Day 10 – 27 August – Osaka**

\- Minoh Park

\- Explore Dotonbori area/eat dinner here

**Day 11 – 28 August – Osaka -> Koyasan**

\- Daimon Sake Brewery

\- Stay at Ryokan in Koyasan

**Day 12 – 29 August – Koyasan -> Tokyo**

\- Okunoin Cemetery

\- Daimon Gate

**Day 13 – 30 August – Tokyo**

\- Anything we feel like we missed while we were in Tokyo earlier

**Day 14 – 31 August – Tokyo**

\- Arrive at airport at 10 AM

We’re getting to the point where we want to start booking hotels/AirBNBs but wanted to make sure the itinerary made sense before doing so. While I feel like some days may be pretty empty, I worry that other days are too packed.

While we’re interested in doing everything on this list, I’d say the most important would be: Minoh park, Mount Fuji, DisneySEA, the ramen museum, staying in a Ryokan, and seeing the Thousand Gates.

  1. I think it looks good! My only suggestion is that on day 3, you’re criss crossing the city from Harajuku to get to the Studio Ghibli museum and then criss crossing back to Shinjuku. It would make more sense to do the Ghibli museum first as Harajuku and Shinjuku are closer to each other.
